FIRST Living Learning Community Team Building

Team 229's FIRST Living Learning Community was started on the idea of being able to more effectively mentor the FLL, FTC and FRC programs run by our team. As with any large effort
made by a group of dedicated people, team work, humility and selflessness are essentials in being an effective team. With that in mind Team 229 brought in Clarkson wellness coordinator
Dan Davis who works with groups ranging from Professional Sports Teams, Corporate Executive Teams and Greek Organizations to Residence Life Staff and various clubs. Mr. Davis uses

activities that stimulate crictical thinking, leadership and  team cooperation. Many times Dan's activities will bring out many sides to peoples charachter and personalities. Dan uses this
as an opportunity to teach the participants by focusing on their reactions to the various situations that are encoutered. Team 229 was excitied to have the opportunitty to work Mr. Davis
and was able to develop some critical skills towards better serving our communitty through our team.

2009 Northern New York FTC & FLL Competition

For its 3rd year in a row Team 229 has been host to Northen New York's annual FLL and FTC tournaments
where teams from surrounding counties and states attend to compete in the 2009 FLL and FTC challenges.
Each year the attendence increases and more success stories are made. This year was no exception as
between the FLL and FTC over 50 teams were in attendence. Local FTC teams this year celebrated as they
were able to keep the championship trophy at home this season. We were also happy to have a recently
elected New York Senator as well as State Assemblyman Daryl Aubertine  in attendance for the kick-off.
